This presentation will describe the changing epidemiology of Syphilis in WA, and how to identify the risk groups for syphilis and offer appropriate screening.
Dr Phua will explain the treatment for syphilis and the follow up procedures to assist in contact tracing and treating partners. Additionally, she will discuss the management of the disease in women of reproductive age and will describe the public health action provided by MCDC.

Dr Grace Phua
Dr Grace Phua is a GP on the Syphilis Response Team at Metropolitan Communicable Disease Control. She aims to bring a primary care voice to the public health teams in which she works, and to bring messages about the syphilis outbreak and other topical public health issues to primary care settings.
